Guest Post – The Kingdom Relationships Blueprint

I have some amazing friends, both single and married. One of the things that can be found in our relationships is soul stirring, spirit firing conversations. My friend, Pelola Odutola, wrote this guest post after one of our conversations. Enjoy!

Do you know that there is a Kingdom Blueprint that God has put in place to govern all of our relationships? To guide us not only to His will but to total submission to His process? I am only just coming to a full realisation of this… mind blown!

Even more so because I have never truly applied this to any of my relationships. I have basically been an idol unto myself, my will, my own desires. This revelation only came to me because God gave me specific instructions. I actually resisted… which led me to ask several questions? Why is God asking me to do this? I honestly felt it was disruptive. In fact, I didn’t see any purpose to it. Then He revealed to me that the process is more about unearthing certain things than it is about disruption.

This led me to the second question; what do I actually think about God? Do I think my own plans are superior to His? Do I even lowkey think He is wicked or unreasonable? These are the beliefs I am actually affirming when I leave no room for Him, when I deviate from total submission. When we submit to His perfect will, we become transformed to His likeness. We attract treasures along the way even as we become transformed. A friend put it like this, “we become magnets as a result.” I could not agree more.

When we do not submit to His will, we send ourselves on assignments God never endorsed and encounter carnage God never really intended in the first place. We are fortunate by his Grace to overcome and then we actually think ourselves noble, when we were only ever enjoying the benevolence of a loving Father.

“Thy will be done.”

The most powerful prayer but only meaningful with total submission. The wrong mindsets and fears have actually been my greatest shackles. And so finally I started to personalise this verse; “Stand firm in the liberty by which Christ has made us free and do not be entangled again with the yoke of bondage” – Galatians 5:1.

This article is so thought provoking and refreshing. If you want to learn more about being a Kingdom single, Dr Tony Evans has a great book called “Kingdom Single.” It is a great resource and will be worth your while.
